Introducing the 2025 Ford Explorer
Ford refreshed the Explorer lineup for 2025, a model now available in four exciting trim levels. New styling elements, including a reworked front fascia with eye-catching headlights and a sporty grille, as well as a redesigned tailgate, boost the Explorer’s visual appeal. Interior updates focus on comfort and premium materials.
Powerful Powertrain Options
Choosing the right 2025 Explorer starts with deciding which powertrain you prefer. The base 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine delivers 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, more than enough for the average driver and daily rides across the town. An available 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine pumps out 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, delivering more muscle for confident handling in challenging driving conditions.
Both powertrains mate with a 10-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting and efficient performance. Rear-wheel drive comes standard and pairs with Ford’s Terrain Management System with six drive modes. All-wheel drive is optional and brings additional drive modes for enhanced driving dynamics on unpaved roads.
Interior and Comfort
Designed with big families in mind, the 2025 Explorer delivers plenty of space for people and cargo. The standard interior configuration boasts seating for seven with E-Z Entry second-row captain’s chairs that move out of the way with the press of a button for seamless third-row access.
